Description

Looking for a general manager, with at least 8+ years’ experience, to run a full service bar/lounge/restaurant for a new and trendy independently owned venue recently opened in Harker Heights, TX.

The ideal candidate will possess at least the following attributes:

  • Hospitality and service orientated, to oversee a guest experience driven venue;
  • Motivated team player, with ability to work well with others;
  • Great interpersonal skills, with upbeat personality, and positive attitude;
  • Strong leader with excellent organizational skills and proactive work ethic;
  • Ability to communicate with ownership, staff, and guests;
  • Ability to carry out ownerships’ vision and plan;
  • Ability to fully manage and oversee back of house and front of house staff and operations;
  • Ability to build and nurture a team-based culture amongst staff;
  • Ability to use (or quickly learn to use) Toast POS system, MarketMan Inventory Management system, Tock Reservation Management system, MS Word, and MS Excel;
  • Punctual for shifts;
  • Ability to multi-task;
  • Ability to work long periods on your feet;
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds;
  • Ability to work opening shifts and closing shifts;
  • Ability to handle busy work environment;
  • Credentials and certificates in kitchen health, safety, and food handling; and
  • Ability to pass drug test and background screening.

Duties include the following:

  • Performing all tasks with hospitality and service at the forefront of all decisions;
  • Overseeing all business operations;
  • Overseeing scheduling and hiring of all staff members needed for the venue;
  • Creating budgets, analyzing actual costs, and maintaining proper operations and profitability for the business;
  • Creating, reading, and interpreting regular reports regarding food costs, liquor costs, and labor costs, with the ability to make adjustments in order to keep/bring them within industry standards;
  • Enforcing standard operating procedures and protocols for all staff members;
  • Handling and reconciling all nightly closeouts;
  • Overseeing regular inventory, and ordering, of all BOH and FOH items;
  • Leading entire staff by example, and motivating staff to perform at peak levels;
  • Executing ownerships’ vision on food and beverage menu program with consistency and high quality; and
  • Following direction from management and ownership.

This is a “hands-on” position and not an "office" job. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
